Foreword by Rev. Dr. Charlene M. Proctor

Spiritual growth, says Sri Bhagavan, always begins where you are, not where you want to be. This is his favorite advice, which he gives spiritual seekers who travel to India and want to shed their past traumas so they can move forward in life with strength and dignity. His goal is to show people who seek a relationship with the Divine the joy of a life that is free from pain. I’ve been there. I know it is entirely possible to empty our bodily containers of fear, regret, worry, self-doubt, and old emotional programming and conditioning and live in the present moment. But we must make a conscious decision to stop clinging to our old stories and reliving them. If we want to experience true freedom, we must be willing to give up our suffering and let go of fear. There is no room for personal or spiritual growth when our lives are polluted by the agonies of the past.

Deeksha Fills Your Body with a Sense of Joy

Doug Bentley, a Oneness Guide from The Oneness University in India, recently told me a marvelous story I want to share with you. In 2005, while he was at work in Washington, D.C., he watched an internet video of an American woman sitting in southern India at a festival held for spiritual teachers to display their work. It was meant to be a celebration of the idea behind contribution and service to humanity, which is unity. This woman was clearly in an altered state of being, a state of total and unconditional love and peace. As joy poured out of her, tears rolled down her cheeks. She explained how, after 30 years of intense seeking and trying every spiritual path and modality possible, she had just had this experience after receiving something very new being offered to humanity called deeksha or the Oneness Blessing. Deeksha is a divine energy transfer that helps activate the energetic body and opens various energy centers within the body that allow a person to start having a direct experiential and personal relationship with the Divine.

This blessing, as Doug tells the story, was given to her by a living avatar named Sri Bhagavan, and provided her with the freedom she had yearned for. In her face and body, he saw the authenticity of her experience. She was humbled from the magnitude of this gift. Later, it changed his whole path to awakening to a higher state of being, of uplifting himself into conscious living, and consequently, it permanently shifted his pathway to peace and joy.

Today, deeksha is given along with many other teachings and ancient processes that help a person’s energetic body get activated. It makes easier to grow in a spiritual dimension. Won’t you join us in the Maya Yucatan to experience deeksha in a sacred site? We plan to tour the ruins, enjoy the vibrations of the day, and receive many blessings on January 9-15, 2011. Crystal Blue Water on the Horizon

One day in Fiji, in the Namalé dining room, I sat in a cushy chair and comfortably overlooked a generous, green mountain range. In the distance, I saw the Koro Sea. A friend of mine and I were relaxing, and talked about a spiritual program session we had attended just hours before. The lecture was about being present. One of the keys to joyful living is to stop attempting to change everyone and just notice what is in front of us. We can never change a person, the monk had told us, we can only experience that person. And being fully engaged in the present means we don’t miss the beautiful experiences in life.

While that lesson sunk in, I looked at the lush landscape with appreciation. A Fijian man came from behind my chair, and tapped me on the shoulder. He pointed at the sky in front of me. “See it?” he said, with a toothless grin. “See what?” I asked, puzzled. I leaned forward in my chair, straining. I’d been a part of this view for over an hour. Maybe a dolphin had jumped out of the water! “It’s a rainbow,” he laughed, and at that moment, my eyes shifted upward. “It has been here for the last hour, we’ve never seen one last so long!”

There is an old saying about seeing the forest from the trees, and I realized that I had not been fully present. While I’d been enjoying the view, my mind was drifting: what were my kids doing back home? Was anybody feeding the dog? I’d been staring directly at a rainbow the entire time, but didn’t see it!

On your winter travels, especially your Journeys of the Spirit, be sure to take time to notice what’s right in front of you! On my journey to the Mayan Yucatan, we will relax and nourish ourselves with a sense of deep peace and plenty of blessings. Mark your calendars from January 9-15, 2011! Join us for spiritual teachings, spa treatments, yoga, sacred sites, and mala-making. I look forward to being with you! Click here to sign up!

International Day of Peace

Be Peaceful

Today, September 21, is the day declared by the United Nations General Assembly, as the International Day of Peace, a day devoted to commemorating and strengthening the ideals of peace both within and among all nations and peoples. Join me in extending your light to the world, and to set an intention for peace.

Remember, peace begins within. It begins with YOU, the individual. Collectively, we cannot manifest a peaceful world when we are in pain, suffering, or living with a judgment mindset. To demonstrate peace, we must become the idea of peace. It must vibrate within our very soul and be expressed in our spoken and written words.

Today, I’d like you to focus on inner peace, and expressing soft and beautiful speech. Feel peace from your heart! Daily Word’s affirmation on inner peace is perfect to align yourself with these ideas.

Affirmation: Inner Peace

The peace of God fills my heart.

A river rushing downstream tumbles over rocks and flows around fallen logs. It is a busy current of power and energy. But deep below the surface the water is calm and quiet, gently lending strength to the bustling activity at the surface.

Deep within me is a center of peace–a quiet strength that gives me the power and energy to pursue my dreams. When I pray, I draw on the peace within me. I trust in the strength and stability of God’s indwelling presence.

Although outer circumstances may appear tumultuous, my strength comes from the center of my being where the peace of my soul is undisturbed.

Be well, my friends, and be at peace.

Every Blessing,

The Vision Board That Didn’t Work…Or Did It?

Oprah has taken an interest in people who had vision boards that produced positive and abundant change in their lives. On February 11, 2007, after the February 8th airing of the The Secret with James Arthur Ray and Michael Beckwith, I sat myself down and spent the entire day creating a vision board of my own. Since I have no problem visualizing anything, I felt this was a terrific exercise in setting goals, creating an intention, and thanking the universe for what I have already received. I remember looking at my new vision board and thinking, Well, God wants us to have it all, so why not? I held nothing back in creating the board. It was complex, crazy, I shot for the moon.

When I finished, I celebrated. I spent at least an hour dancing joyfully around the living room in a state of gratitude. I allowed every experience on that board to come into my being (and believe me, there were events on that board of such complexity I think even God would have to pause to figure out how to make them manifest into reality). For the first time, I allowed myself to really feel what it was like to receive these gifts and have these events happen in my life. To be given all the gifts on that board, to know them, was humbling. When we ask, it is given, and then we offer thanks to the Divine for being a co-creative partner in our growth and evolution. This is one of the secrets of the visualization process. It’s how we attract new conditions and circumstances. I was reminded in Oprah’s show that after we create in the mind we must express deep gratitude from the heart. This expression tells the universe that we are already in receipt of what we asked for.

But after we ask, how do we draw ourselves into alignment with what we want? With healings, gifts, or more love? During the last three years, the gifts on my board I received were healthy skin (I beat cancer), a healthy body (made it through back surgery), and improved family relationships. I asked for simplicity at work—and wound up losing my office; I wish I knew why I asked for that one!

But many other things I did not experience or receive. Things like working with Michael Beckwith in raising consciousness, or my next book hitting the New York Times best-seller list. The book I was writing at the time didn’t get picked up by a publisher, and since the idea was not well received, I dropped the project. There was no media blitz, no fresh material, and I went back to the drawing board. How long would it take, I wondered to write a book that everyone wants to read? And what am I not doing to support this vision of being a teacher who uplifts the human spirit?

I put the board away.

Then one day I got an email whose subject line was “What guest I learned the most from on Oprah.” …continue reading the entire article here…>

Merging With the Divine Presence Retreat: Deeksha, Oneness Blessing & Mala-Making

MAYAN YUCATAN: Merging With The Divine Presence – Jan 8-14th, 2011

Imagine what an amazing trip this truly will be. Click here and read below for more details.

Relax, affirm, and awaken with Rev. Dr. Charlene M. Proctor! Join her for daily deeksha/oneness blessings, meditations, and oneness teachings in the some of the most sacred sites in Mexico. Many of us are looking for ways to get to know the Divine and feel the joy of being alive and connected with every being. For spiritual seekers, opening the mystical door through practices, such as breath awareness, meditation, yoga, dancing, prayer, and being with nature helps create a sense of openness to the unity, or oneness of all humanity, no matter our wisdom traditions. To fully realize unity with the Divine, we must look within for our truth, a truth that respects our individuality but recognizes that the same divine light lives in everyone.

Learn more and be sure to register for this event early! Space is limited and there is a sold out possibility. Go to the details page by clicking here!
