Let’s dance! Charlene to Raise Money for The Detroit Historical Society. We Need Your Vote!

Dear Friends and Family:

Since its founding in 1921, the Detroit Historical Society has been dedicated to ensuring that the history of the region is preserved so that current and future generations of Detroiters can better understand the people, places and events that helped shape our lives. This organization educates and inspires our community and visitors by preserving and portraying our region’s shared history through dynamic exhibits and experiences at both the Detroit Historical Museum and Dossin Great Lakes Museum.

It’s really neat to see children take pride in the Detroit area and learn something about Great Lakes history. It’s a confidence booster and helps them connect to where they live. They learn to love and appreciate the Midwest. Having lived here my entire life, I support this effort and hope you will too.

To raise money for the DHS, I am performing at the Detroit Historical Society’s “Dancing With The Stars Event” on Friday, December 2nd  It’ll be a wonderful and festive evening, filled with ballroom dancing, great music, entertainment and food! I hope you can attend. The winner of the Dancing with Detroit’s Stars competition is the dancer who receives the most “votes” (donations) the night of the event.

So this year, the society has online voting, beginning Monday, November 21st through Wednesday, November 30th. Each “vote” is a minimum donation of $20. We sure would appreciate your tax-deductible vote – it’s for a great cause! I am hoping my efforts to delight the audience with a waltz will help the Detroit Historical Society continue to educate the kids of this area for another year.

Thanks so much for your generosity!  I appreciate it so very much.  Go to this link to vote for me: http://www.olddetroitshop.com/bhisobada.html then click on my photo. It’s that easy!

And if you can attend, I hope to see you on the dance floor on December 2nd!

With Heaps of Love and Gratitude,
